Who is Gander?
Gander aims to lead the retail revolution by empowering businesses to reduce food waste, cut costs and increase sustainability. Our innovative platform not only showcases discounted food items but also helps customers take charge of their impact on the planet. Join us in making a difference!
What does Gander do?
An average of 50% of reduced-to-clear food goes to waste - but it doesn't have to be that way; Gander can help reduce waste by displaying to local shoppers exactly what delicious reduced-priced food is live on the shelves right now!
- The Gander app tackles food waste at the retailer level, providing a broader audience access to reduced-to-clear products and preventing the waste of perfectly good food.
- By providing consumers with more affordable food options during times of financial hardship, Gander empowers individuals to make smarter purchasing decisions that benefit their wallets and the planet.
- Gander is a game-changer for retailers, providing valuable data insights into their waste compliance, processes and procedures. With Gander, retailers can protect the environment while boosting their bottom line, positively impacting customers and the planet.
Gander is a world-first solution that enables retailers to prevent food from becoming waste. It provides consumers with affordable food options, reduces carbon emissions, and empowers retailers to make data-driven decisions that benefit their business and the planet.
What does it mean for sustainability and climate change?
According to recent studies, a staggering one-third of all food produced ends up in landfills, with the retail sector being responsible for 13% of all food waste. Reducing the items nearing their end of life is one of the most effective methods for retailers to prevent food from going to waste. However, an average of 50% of this marked-down food still goes to waste due to poor in-store compliance and limited visibility.
The result is a significant increase in food waste, lost revenue, and, ultimately, greater levels of CO2 and methane that are harming our environment.
Unlike other food waste solutions, Gander sits within the prevention part of the WRAP hierarchy, reducing the volume of surplus food generated. Our unique analytics platform, Ganderlytics, offers unprecedented insights into products, enabling retailers to make better, more informed decisions about their future stock and learn more about customer needs. This detailed reporting ensures accurate real-time statistics, something uncommon in other food waste applications.
Gander's innovative approach to food waste prevention, revenue generation, and real-time analytics makes it the ideal solution for retailers looking to reduce their environmental impact, increase their revenue, and gain valuable insights into their business.
Prevention is the Priority!
